EDIFY

Edify is a group of ambitious young people who strive for vocal excellence while carrying forth the ministry of Jesus Christ. Every year members of The African American Voices Gospel Choir audition for this group as they have a rigorous schedule, and a demanding vocal repertoire. Out of that group Edify is formed.

Bio

Edify began as L.E.V.A.S. (Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing) an initiative instituited by TJ Stewart and members of the 2005-2006 Executive Board. AAVGC was in high demand to sing The Black National Anthem and it became tiresome and tedious to gather the entire choir to sing just one song, this is where the initiative came from. Under the direction of Herbert Smith and leadership of Jeneen Thrash L.E.V.A.S debuted at the "O So Couture" Fashion Show in the spring of 2006 rendering The Black National Anthem. Since then the group has skyrocketed. In addition to singing The Black National Anthem, Edify has also ministered at numerous venues locally and state-wide.

Please keep this group in your prayers as they sing the gospel and edify all that may hear.

The results are in, and we would first like to say that everyone that auditioned was amazing and these selections were very hard to make, but we had to make them nonetheless. Thank you and God bless everyone for auditioning!
